RISE 2017 – Why participate ?
I’m halfway into graduation now, and I can say that I have learned some life lessons for sure that I would like to share with you. I’m sure I’ve got more, but these are the ones that stuck out to me.
Monotony is counter productive. And RECREATION is the way out – to rejuvenate. It helps to get back to your productive & efficient self. Long classroom hours, and countless more hours with assignments ,studies etc. leaves no space for being ourself.
Reinventing our wheels is a must. In midst of a monotonous routine, one should take time to introspect, have fun and realign oneself to the bigger challenges of life that one has to face in future.
I am sure college life is one of the most exciting and important phases in anyone’s life. College Fests like RISE presents an important learning curve for all. It boils down to an individual to participate or stay away from it. Remember, a college festival is not just for fun, it adds value to a student’s learning experience. In fact these days cultural and technical events in college are of equal importance to that of studies. Take a look at some popular fests organized as below,
Fest Month | Fest Name | College Name |
JAN | Carpe Diem’17 | IIM Calcutta |
JAN | Unmaad 2017 | IIM Bangalore |
FEB | Echoes 2017 | IIM Kozhikode |
FEB | XENIA 2017 | ISBF, New Delhi |
FEB | RISE 2017 | IPER UG, Bhopal |
Why should I participate ?
Well , the main reason that comes to my mind is to ‘Challenge Oneself’ . Yes, you heard it right.
If you want to make the most out of your career, mantra is to challenge yourself. You will never fulfill even a fraction of your potential by sticking to the safe and comfortable. Why? Because the safe and comfortable never forces you to rise to the occasion. It never offers the resistance that strengthens muscles you didn’t know you had.
# You grow as an individual,
by competing, you discover more about yourself and what you are good at. You improve your knowledge and skills in more areas that you are not as good at. You will also be able to grow as a person when you engage in introspective thinking, be more spontaneous, humble, honest, spiritual.
#You broaden your prospects,
by participation. Take chances to expand our horizons and enrich our experiences. The more we know, the more we realise how little we actually understand about the world and the things around us.
#Your overall well being,
depends on having time for yourself to unwind and do the things you love. Thats the key for emotional, mental, spiritual and physical well-being.
