“Know Your Rights” – ITC Vivel Workshop

IPER in association with ITC Vivel organized the workshop titled “Know Your Rights” – #AbSamjhautaNahin on 29th August 2019. The program was hosted by the corporate guest Miss Richa Chadha, who is an educator, a change maker at change.org, a researcher, a public speaker, and a writer on gender. Miss Richa has been closely working on the subject of gender and education by empowering the youth and bringing awareness on equality. The locus of the workshop was to educate the young students and provide them the understanding of their rights.

The Learning Session

During the workshop, students acknowledged the important legal rights and its implication. The Right to Equality, Right to Freedom, Right against Exploitation, Right to freedom of Religion, Cultural and Educational Rights, Right to Property and Right to Constitutional remedies. Through videos and performances, the students understood the legal rights in an effective manner. Miss Richa thoroughly explained the importance of speaking up against any workplace harassment and how it can change the mindset of society. Certain issues like Domestic violence, Cyber Safety, the Landmark decisions in History by which various amendments in Constitution were made and lastly, she brought her views on Consent during the session.

Take Action to Transform

The first step a human needs to have before taking any action is to know his/her rights, otherwise, the person will be. clueless in society. The transformation only happens when you know your rights, act on your rights and last but not the least share your rights, said miss Richa Chadha. The successful and interactive workshop concluded by taking a pledge to never settle with injustice and always speak up against the wrongdoings.

IPER thanks ITC Vivel for this awareness workshop at the campus and providing apprehension to the students of UG and MBA with Legal Provisions and Gender Equality.
