Democracy Walk by IPER MBA Students
India is at Electoral juncture, around 15 million first time voters will play a major role in deciding the fate of India’s polity. Clearly, a great deal is at stake so it is very important to spread awareness to the youth ahead of the Lok Sabha Election 2019. IPER Bhopal Management Students Committee in association with District Electoral Officer Bhopal and Radio Partner Red FM took the initiative to expand the consciousness by commencing the Democracy Walk from DB Mall Square on Saturday, 4th May 2019.
Democracy Walk for First Time Voters
Democracy walk was a small yet powerful initiative by IPER. Students said voting is an honor and by exercising this duty we demonstrate the respect for our Country. District Administrative Authorities of Bhopal Ms. Tanvi Hudda and Mr. Ritesh Sharma were present to flag off the walk. Ms. Tanvi said, voting is a responsibility as it is a constitutional right. It is built on the foundation of voting and so the youth must participate in this virtue. While Mr. Sharma expressed a great admiration to the initiative and said voting offers a medium of expression to the youth & vote for the one who fits the purpose.
Every Vote Counts – #GoVote
The motto of the walk was to make the young ones realize the importance of each vote. It has been seen the young voters are not inclined towards this extremely important duty. India being so populous, a voter might feel that a single vote does not make any difference but every vote counts and it does make a difference. Certainly, the event came about to stop this being a national attitude. Also teaching them what long term consequences it may bring if one skips to caste the vote.
IPER congratulates all the students and thanks the support of District Administrative Authorities and Radio Partner Red FM for making this activity a success.
