Youth Festival is an annual gathering of College Students to collaborate different art forms. BU Bhopal (Barkatullah University) organized a three-day inter-college and District level Competitions that witnessed excellent performances ranging from classical music to the theater drama. IPER UG students participated in this District Level Youth Fest and won both praise and prizes.
The fest commenced with a rally that was focused on the theme of “Beti Bachao Beti Padao”. The rally began from Gyan Vigyan Bhawan to BU Bhopal campus and was followed by students along with district team members and District Representatives. The Youth Festival was a competitive platform for the students as it offered a University level platform perform and win while competing with peer group from other Colleges of Madhya Pradesh.
The Vice-Chancellor of BU Bhopal and Registrar inaugurated the Fest. The Inaugural Programme was held at Gyan Vigyan Bhawan Auditorium of Bhopal, which was filled with more than 500 students from different places included Betul, Raisen, Sehore, Harda, Raisen, Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Vidisha and other districts of Mp.
The first day of the fest was held on 6th Oct 2017 that included Inter-College competitions on various dance forms, starting with Indian dance followed by the classical and western dance in both solo and group performances. Other competitions on the day included mimicry and singing. Mr. Harsh Jha, the student of IPER UG participated in the Mimicry contest and showcased his skill in the voice of 14 different artists. The performance was highly appreciated by the guests and judges. Harsh Jha won the second position in the district level mimicry competition. Mimicry is a born talent that cannot be taught and practice is the only way to become a perfect mimicry artist, which Harsh Jha did.
On the second day of the Fest, IPER-UG students performed in theater play competition and presented their play on Rabindranath Tagore’s “MUKUT”. Shivam Yadav, the student of IPER UG directed this play and performed as an actor in it too, in addition to managing lights, music and sound settings. The play was appreciated by one and all that boosted the students’ confidence and team spirit.
On the third and final day of the Youth Fest organized by BU Bhopal, Vinish John, the student of IPER UG performed in western solo singing competition and won the first position and qualified the State Level performance.
The three-day youth festival was an opportunity for the students to showcase their talent in different art forms. In this Fest, IPER students participated in different art competition including Spot Painting, Poster Making, Rangoli, Skit, Mime, One Act, Mimicry, Singing, Classical Singing, Debate, Quiz, Collage Making and Western Singing.
