Faculty Development Program @ IPER
“Paradigm Shift in Management Education” – the theme for Faculty Development Program at IPER held on 19th Jan., 2015 .was Dr. Anurika Vaish, Associate Professor- IIIT, Allahabad shared her valuable insights onon content based learning, blended learning and use of online learning resources, simulators and open courseware for the effective teaching in classroom.
Blended learning is a formal education program in which a student learns at least in part through delivery of content and instruction via digital and online media with some element of student control over time, place, path, or pace. While still attending a “brick-and-mortar” school structure, face-to-face classroom methods are combined with computer aided online activities.
Since Moodle was introduced as an opened source learning software, blended learning has been developed as another technical method in teaching beside the traditional face-to-face instruction.
The expansion of the learning environment by using open source management system is supported by the social constructionist epistemologies theory. Its goal is to provide a set of tools that support an inquiry-and discovery-based approach, to create an environment that allows for collaborative interaction among students as a standalone or in addition to conventional classroom instruction. This theory focuses on sharing of opinions, ideas, and other social artifacts
IPER introduced moodle in the year 2013 as a part of its innovative approach for effective learning.
The above FDP was part of series of workshops/programs/seminars/etc. which IPER conducts routinely as part of “Train the Trainer” series. In all sixty faculties from different domain of specialization had attended the FDP. The main focus of the FDP was .
