Awareness Program : World Consumer Rights Day

IPER-UG Students observed World Consumer Rights day organized by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Welfare of the Government of M.P. at Bhopal Haat, today. An awareness program for the consumer rights and laws made for protection of the consumers were highlighted by various renowned speakers like the President of the M. P. Gas Dealers Association, Bhopal, Mr. R K Gupta, Principal Secretary Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Welfare, Mr. K. C Gupta, and Managing Director, M. P. Civil Supplies Corporation Mr. Faiz Ahmed Kidwai addressed the gathering.

Finally Mr. Om Prakash Dhurve, Honorable Minister Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Welfare, Govt. of M. P. in his address, called upon the youth to actively participate in the Consumer protection & Consumer Rights awareness of the citizens of our country. He focused on the students attending the program to go out and bring about changes required in the society so that the consumer can fight for his / her rights.

Later in the program awards to NGOs who have done commendable jobs in this field were distributed along with the award for best Stalls put up by various associated agencies.

IPER-UG students mingled with all the stall displayers asking them about their contribution in consumer protection and questioning them about how & procedure adopted by them in handling consumer complaints etc.
