‘Teaching Management Subjects: Applied Practices and Pedagogy’

The ever changing global business environment demand professionals to be equipped with latest skills and capabilities to meet the business challenges. Innovation as a tool to keep up with emerging standards has become a tradition at IPER. Keeping with Institute’s vision, we have been adopting innovative teaching practices to ensure that the participants learn much more than just the concepts taught in a contemporary classroom.
IPER has always taken a lead in creating a platform for interaction between the Faculties of various B-Schools of India. With grand success of earlier FDPs, ‘IPER in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized FDP # 3- 2019’, a Week long Faculty Development Programme on the subject: ‘Teaching Management Subjects: Applied Practices and Pedagogy’ with distinguished experts from industry and faculty members of IPER as resource persons. The focus of the Programme was to enlighten the management educators about the inter relationship of various management domains and train them to become an all-round management faculty.
There were total 18 sessions, spread out evenly for 6 days. The topics and resource persons are mentioned in the table below-

These sessions were basically taken by the resource persons from IPER. To link academia, with industry expectations, out of these 18, three sessions were taken up by the subject experts from CII on topics like: Preparation for Employability of Students by Management Educators, Management in Family Run Business and Decision Making with Entrepreneurial Skills. Apart from these sessions, one session was based upon psychology; being taken by a renowned corporate trainer. These sessions were spread out, evenly during the last six days.

 

Total, 21 faculty members and research scholars from various management and commerce institutes of Madhya Pradesh attended these sessions.

 

On the last day, valedictory session was organized which was graced by Hon.Vice Chancellor, Barkatullah University Bhopal, Dr. R.J. Rao and representative from CII Mr. Sawan Uprety- Head-CII Skill Training Centre along with Board members from IPER.. In this session all the FDP participants received participation certificates. The FDP was well appreciated by the dignitaries, participants as well the directors of the participating institutes.
