IPER UG CSR community in association with Institute of Hotel Management (IHM-Bhopal),had organized ‘One Day Certification Workshop’ on:

  1. Food Hygiene
  2. Dining Etiquettes
  3. Table Manners & Layout

Students were invited to submit their consent and register themselves to be a part of this ‘Self-Development-exercise’.
Workshop was conducted for 2 hours with session on ‘Table Etiquettes & Table Layout’ by Trainer-Mr. Manish Maithani and session on ‘Health and Hygiene’ by Trainer- Ms.‘Ruchi Chouhan’.

Session 1, included brief discussion on Why table manners are important? And.. How can wemake ourselves more impressive with correct Table Etiquettes and Table manners. Mr Manish Maithani through his presentation and physical table-layout explained.
Table Layout with different course meals that can be both in Formal and Informal Setup, different Cutleries used, different Glass-ware like High Ball, Collins, Old Fashioned, Wine glasses as so on.

How a Menu Card should ideally be? How should the correct Table layout be? What should be the Order Of Sitting…?
Over and above, ‘Every action of yours define and talk about you , so be in the Correct Posture, Focus on food and avoid barriers to eating like talking or being on phone.’

Session 2 by Ms. Ruchi Tondon included ‘Health and Hygiene’- Food Hygiene. She began her session with the saying “Your Looks are been defined by what you EAT”, So eat healthy.

Answering , What exactly is Healthy Food… she stressed on good practices that lead to clean workplace and safe production of food. Other important point:

  1. Avoid cross contamination, respect food choice.
  2. Wash, Rinse and Sanitize
  3. Cook it and Chill it if not required the very moment.

 

 

Towards the end of the session, special Words Of Wisdom were shared by Dr. Anand Kumar Singh Principal IHM , Bhopal, who stressed on ‘Changing daily routine habits and time scheduling. Food gives best result when consumed fresh and at the right time’.

As a token to gratitude, Saplings were handed over to Principal and HOD – IHM and received Cotton-Thrash Bags (By All students) as a mark to say ‘No to plastic and Go- Green initiative’ by IHM.
