My City, My Bhopal
Bhopal today, is fast emerging as an education hub in Central India, the city with its multi stream educational facilities attracts students from not just the state but across the country. Global Investors Summit held at Indore saw 12 MoUs for private universities in the state. Initiative to set up a Special Education Zone (S.Ed.Z) in the form of Knowledge City at Bhopal for which 635 acre of land has already been allotted by the government. The Knowledge City would house reputed medical, engineering and other colleges on a single premises for which they would be given concessions.
Already home to three universities, the various academic institutions in the state capital offer courses ranging from medical and multi stream training in engineering, the pristine and peaceful surroundings of the city provide an ideal setting for education.Education today is looked at as an investment by most and the city’s educational institutions provide an excellent return on investment, an advantage that stems from the comparatively low cost living offered by the city.
The cosmopolitan outlook of the city is an added advantage, staying true to its hospitable character the city welcomes students from all regions and backgrounds, the city eateries offer wholesome affordable food to suit every palate and pocket. Recent emergence of the city on the campus placement map of the country with many blue chip organizations, including Infosys, Satyam Computers, HCL, Tata Consultancy Services, looking towards the city to fulfill their manpower requirements. Alumni of various institutions are already with some of the finest organizations across India’s industrial landscape.
The Private University Act has been brought to facilitate establishment of private universities by internationally renowned and reputed educational institutions in the state. This would also enable the institutions to offer courses in tune with the requirements created by industrialization and globalization. This is a good initiative to channelize the energy of private sector for public welfare.
